The premier European conference on parallel computing
Toulouse, France, 31 August to 3 September 1999
Conference Proceedings
It is up to the computer architect to choose from a broad range of execution models, including efficient message passing architectures as well as shared memory models that can feature both of its NUMA or CC-NUMA variants. In contrast to the Stanford FLASH and MIT Alewife Distributed Shared Memory architectures, SCI's distributed directory based cache coherence protocol provides scalability.
Based on SCI adapter cards and switches manufactured in Europe, the SCI community in Europe has done and is doing significant developments and state-of-the-art research on this important interconnect.
The Euro-PAR conferences are dedicated to the promotion and advancement of all aspects of parallel computing, including hardware, software, algorithms, and applications. Multiple processor systems with SCI as an interconnect are being used for an increasing number of parallel computing tasks. The objective of the SCI Europe'99 Conference Stream of Euro-PAR'99 is to bring together researchers actively involved in the development and the various applications of SCI technology.
Through presentations and open discussions, we aim to exchange experiences, to review successes and setbacks, to identify promising research avenues and application domains, to foster new collaborations.
