DETOP
DEbugging TOol for Parallel and distributed systems

Overview
The goal of this project is to develop a source code debugging tool for parallel and distributed applications based on PVM that is capable of inspecting and manipulating a large number of processes at the same time. The project is based on previous debugger developments for multithreaded systems (PARIX), which have carried out in a cooperation with Parsytec. The current version of DETOP runs on top of OCM and supports PVM. A prototype version supporting MPI is developed in cooperation with the Parallel Computing Group at Institute of Computer Science (ICS), Stanislaw Staszic University of Mining and Metallurgy (AGH), Cracow, Poland

A second major goal of the project is to integrate the debugger with a program flow visualizer, a checkpointing system and a deterministic execution controller to form a comfortable and powerful debugging environment (see here).
