Shared Memory programming with a SMiLE

SCI Virtual Memory

Hybrid DSM system and low-level cluster shared memory API

The SCI Virtual Memory or SCI-VM provides the basis for the HAMSTER framework in the form of a hybrid software/hardware DSM system. It uses the software mechanisms from traditional DSM systems and combines them with the hardware DSM capabilities provided by SCI. The result is a fully transparent global virtual memory abstraction exported through a low-level API. This API can be used to allocate, manage, and optimize the behavior of the global memory.
