Computer Aided Recognition and Analysis of Conference AnouncementS

Project Overview

For every scientist, it is crucial to know what conferences are held in her area of interest, which conferences may be interesting to participate, and which conferences might be the most adequate to send paper proposals to.

To get up to date information on upcoming events, scientists usually subscribe to special mailing lists, where conference chairs can send call for papers and call for participations to. However, subscribing to such a mailing lists requires considerable efforts for reading, filtering and summarizing these emails.

To overcome this problem we are developing a program which can read conference anouncements and extract the following information from it:

These information are stored in a database from which in turn a searchable website can be created automatically. Current research also focuses on an active search for conference anouncements in the Internet and on personalizing the web pages to each scientists area of interest.
